A 19th century glazed bookcase on cabinet in oak and mahogany with traditional Ebonised finish. The top having fixed dentil cornice above two glazed doors with ‘Lunacy’ and ‘Psychosis’ in gold leaf writing. ‘Bethelm Royal Hospital’ in gold leaf writing to the top section. Opening to fixed shelving within in teal paint, retaining working lock and key. The lower section- a marriage - of an Ebonised mahogany cabinet with frieze drawer above two beaded doors opening to adjustable shelving within, raised on turned bun feet. Original panelled back to both sections. Good overall condition, losses to paintwork in areas, commensurate with age and use.
