A remarkable c.1760’s oak, walnut, ebony and maple coffer, most likely from Southern Germany. Of panelled construction, it has three iron hinged top and triple arcaded front beautifully inlaid with symmetrical foliate motifs. Raised on moulded base with two substantial carrying handles, later escutcheon and lock, which is no longer operable. Old restorations, historic worm which has been treated as a precaution , waxed and ready to use in the home.
