A good 19th century mahogany two part military campaign chest. The upper section with two short over one long drawer, the lower section with two long drawers, all with recessed brass handles. The body stamped with C22 435. The locks stamped with ‘Late Movement’, likely meaning the lock turns 180 degrees, which is a higher security for cupboards and drawers etc. The quartered symbol on the locks suggest a Birmingham maker and supplier of campaign furniture. Lots marks and dings to the surface, but of beautiful colour and all drawers slide easily.
