A Medium size Hamadan rug, around 100 years old. Originating from west Iran, these rugs are known for their durability and distinctive vibrant colours and geometric design. Hand woven with vegetable dyes, which contribute to their vivid colours. This is in overall decent condition for its age, with some areas frayed at the tassel but perfectly ok. One small area of colour bleed as so often associated with vegetable dye rugs, and a few small white spots. This would have been where the loom snapped and a new thread was taken up. Lovely old rug.
