19th Century Lambalo Kazak

19th Century Lambalo Kazak

£800.00

From a country estate in Cambridge, this 19th century rug dates to around 1880. With an arrangement of medallions in two tones of indigo on shaded brick red ground. These Lambalo’s are a revered type of Kazak rug and also very rare from this period, this particular example being in very good condition for its age, with good even pile. The selvage (selvage being where the weft threads reach the end of the rug) replaced at some point.
