A superb antique Ushak central west Anatolia rug. The field with a one way design of angular plants enclosed by blood red borders of angular vines flanked by guard borders, on a green-blue main ground. These beautiful carpets are from a region of rug production dating from the Ottoman Empire through to the 20th century and have always followed a particular style of design, shown in this excellent example. In good overall condition with minor colour variation, professionally cleaned.
