A large and beautiful 19th century elm and oak Windsor chair, West Country. A good example, with subtly turned front legs, the rear and more reserved legs tapering slightly in. All united with a typical and simple H stretcher. The elm seat subtly saddled and very comfortable, with wide stick and hoop spindle back. A pleasing old iron repair to one arm, as shown. An attractive colour and patination, in original ‘unspoilt’ and sturdy condition.
